The journey starts from the Church of Santa Lucia, entering the historic center of Suna and taking the ancient pedestrian route that connected the residents of Cavandone with the lakeside villages.
Along the scenic trail, you pass by the Torraccia, mentioned in documents from the 15th century for its use in the early Middle Ages as part of the defensive system connecting with Ossola.
Continuing into the woods, you then come across the Oratory of Madonna del Buon Rimedio from the 17th century, and after a few minutes, the parish church, shaded by a specimen of Taxus baccata at least 500 years old. On its side, there's an interesting ossuary chapel covered in inscriptions and frescoes on the theme of death, and inside, a triptych by Sperindio Cagnoli (16th century).
Finally, you reach the village of Cavandone, a small medieval town of considerable urban interest for its examples of rural architecture, where since 2016, there has been a community oven for baking bread.
