Throughout the route, it offers a stunning view of the lake on the right side, allowing you to admire from the outside the prestigious villas overlooking it, until reaching the renowned Gardens of Villa Taranto.

From there, you can safely continue the walk along the Villa Maioni park, home to the Civic Library and the recently built Teatro Maggiore, until reaching the old Intra pier with its vintage canopy.

Along the lakeshore, you'll find the Monument to the Fallen by Mario Tozzi: an arch with a statue depicting a soldier gazing at the sky; from here, you can admire the Borromeo Gulf and the mountains of the Val d'Ossola. Facing the monument is the church of Santa Lucia, built in the 16th century and dedicated to the martyr from Syracuse, protector of sight and stonemasons. A path with murals evoking nature, history, and tradition winds through the village streets.

SS. FABIANO AND SEBASTIANO CHURCH

The small Romanesque church is situated in an elevated position, allowing it to maintain a key role over the centuries as a safer location during lake floods. The presence of mysterious stone carvings, probably of religious or playful significance, arouses great curiosity. A few meters away, by the lakeside, is the bathing area with the Lido, very popular during the summer season among residents and tourists.

Pallanza

Pallanza

On the Pallanza lakeshore, near the pier area, stands the City Hall, an 19th-century building with a large arcade; taking via Ruga leads to Palazzo Viani Dugnani, home to the prestigious Landscape Museum. By the lakeshore stands the delicate Monument to the Fallen of the First World War by Troubetzkoy, depicting a mother with a child in her arms laying down a flower; nearby is the more severe Cadorna Mausoleum, an imposing monument by Marcello Piacentini.

Villa Giulia

Villa Giulia

Villa Giulia's park is a public garden overlooking Lake Maggiore in front of Isolino San Giovanni. The prestigious 20th-century villa hosts events, conferences, and some of Verbania's most significant events, such as the Camellia Exhibitions (Winter and Spring), the "Publishing and Gardens" book fair, and the LetterAltura festival. The lakeside marks the beginning of the cycle and pedestrian path, offering panoramic views of the lake and the historic villas facing it.

Villa Taranto

Villa Taranto

At the end of the cycle and pedestrian path lies Villa Taranto, a world-renowned botanical garden created from 1931 by the Scottish captain Neil Mc Eacharn. The park covers about 20 hectares and boasts a unique botanical heritage; blooms vary throughout the year, creating ever-changing spectacles: bulbs, azaleas, and rhododendrons, water flowers, the Dahlia Maze, and to close the season, fall foliage.

Villa Maioni

Villa Maioni

The villa, built in the early 20th century, houses the Civic Library named after the local philosopher Pietro Ceretti. Surrounded by a flat park of about 30,000 square meters characterized by valuable tall trees; of particular interest are the camellias, typical flowers of the area, collected here in a remarkable collection of specimens from around the world. The villa and park host cultural events and exhibitions.

IL MAGGIORE EVENT CENTER

Centro Eventi Il Maggiore

At the mouth of the San Bernardino stream stands the Multifunctional Event Center "Il Maggiore", designed by the Spanish architect Arroyo and recently built. Its unique structure is inspired by the shape of river stones smoothed by water, a clear reference to the surrounding natural environment. Inside, it hosts two theaters and a large foyer; a short distance away is a well-attended beach during the summer by residents and tourists.

INTRA OLD PIER

Intra

Upon reaching Intra, you'll find the old pier surmounted by an elegant 19th-century canopy; here, crossing the street, you'll climb Contrada, a porphyry pedestrian path lined with numerous shops. The street leads to Piazza San Vittore, the heart of the historic center and home to the basilica of the same name, with its impressive dome and tall bell tower. Inside, you can admire precious 18th-century frescoes recently restored.
